by Zarina Othman, Md. Mahbubul Haque & Bakri Mat

Publisher - Penerbit USIM

Category - Autobiography & Biography

Rohingya Survivors: Regional Security Implication of Gender Based Violence is not only a research book. It also explains how the Rohingya ethnic group became a major security issue in the region, mainly in Myanmar. Due to the prior policy of the Burmese regime, the Rohingyas are stateless, they were forced to leave their homeland and have become refugees. They have been persecuted, tortured, gang raped and labelled as the most victimised tehnic group on earth. The plight of the Rohingyas has attracted the international community attention yet, their future remains uncertain. Based on field work, mainly conducted in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh and Myanmar , the book analyses how the Rohingya gender issue has destabilised the region. It is hoped that the book will become a reference to students, policy makers, post-graduate students, NGOs as well as security analysts.
